Suaitheantas na Scoile

Tháinig Rang 5 & Rang 6 le chéile ag tús na scoilbhliana 2007 agus bhí siad ag obair le tuismitheoirí sa rang ar smaointí do Shuaitheantas Scoile. Bhí go leor tuairimí ann agus i ndiaidh bheith ag labhairt le Foireann na scoile, Cairde na Scoile, agus an Bord Bainistíochta, socraíodh ar an suaitheantas atá ar an éide scoile.

Roghnaíodh an fháinne mar go bhfuil sé éagsúil agus mar shiombal den fhoghlaim shíoraí.

Bhí na healaí ann ón tús mar thagairt do mhiotaseolaíocht na tíre, don dúlra áitiúil (an t-inbhear) agus mar shiombal de pháistí, múinteoirí agus tuismitheoirí ag obair sa treo chéanna. ‘Ar aghaidh linn le chéile’.

Cruit Bhrian Bóroimhe atá ann mar shiombal den cheol agus den tír. Tagann na líntí agus na ciorcail sa bhfáinne ón gcruit.

Liathróid pheile atá ann mar shiombal de chluichí Gaelacha.

Leabhar atá ann mar shiombal den fhoghlaim.

Cros Bhríde atá ann mar shiombal den Chríostaíocht.

School Crest

Rang 5 and Rang 6 came together at the beginning of the school year 2007 and with the help of parents, came up with ideas for the school crest. There were plenty of ideas, and following consultation with staff, Cairde na Scoile and the Board of Management, the design available on the uniform was chosen.

The ring was chosen because it is different and because it represents the eternal cycle of learning.

The swans have been with us from the early days as a reference to Celtic Mythology, to our local wildlife (the estuary) and as a symbol of children, teachers and parents working together in the same direction. ‘Together we go forward’.

The Brian Boru Harp represents music and our country. The lines and circles within the ring are taken from the harp.

The Gaelic football is a symbol of sport, especially Gaelic games.

The Book is a symbol of learning.

St Bridgets Cross is a symbol of our Christian ethos.
