Cé Muid?
Tá beirt ó gach rang 3-6 againn ar Chomhairle na nDaltaí. Tugann an Chomhairle deis do pháistí na scoile a dtuairimí a roinnt agus a nochtú tríd na hionadaithe ranga maidir le conas cabhrú leis an scoil. Bíonn cruinnithe ag an gComhairle go rialta. Roinnt oibre atá déanta ag Comhairle na nDaltaí thar na mblianta go dtí seo ná: Múrphictiúr a eagrú don scoil a léiríonn spiorad na scoile, díolachán císte a eagrú chun airgead a ghnóthú don mhúrphictiúr, Litearthacht agus Gaeilge a chur chun cinn ar chlós na Naíonáin, Seachtain Chairdis a eagrú agus chabhraigh siad thar na blianta le dioscó na Samhna a eagrú in éineacht le go leor rudaí eile. Tá neart smaointe nua ag an gComhairle i mbliana agus is cinnte go mbeidh obair den scoth ar bun acu ar son na scoile.

Who are We?
2 children from each of the Rang 3-6 classes are selected for the Student’s Council. The council meet during the year to share and discuss ways the children of GSBB can help out about the school. Over the years the council have helped organise the painting of a mural on one of the schools walls representing the spirit of the school. They have helped out with ‘friendship week’ and the annual Halloween disco. They help and supported with events for Seachtain na Gaeilge and have organised cake sales and Christmas Hat day, raising funds for charities. Last year they were also active in promoting and encouraging the use of the Irish Language in the junior yards. They have lots of good ideas this year and we have no doubt but they will carry out trojan work on behalf on the children of the school.

Book Swap Scheme
This years council are already planning a book swap scheme. More information will be shared during the year. Keep an eye on the website.

Píosa staire daoibh: Roghnaíodh Sam Mac an Ába iarscoláire ar choiste Comhairle na nÓg, Sord agus bhí sé ag obair ar son cearta na bpáistí sa gceantar ar feadh tréimhse 2 bhliana. Táimid thar a bheith bródúil as agus ár bpáistí go léir.
A little bit of history: Sam Mac an Ába, a past student was elected as a member of Comhairle na nÓg, Sord a few years ago and worked on behalf of the rights of local children for a number of years. We are ever so proud of him and all our wonderful children.
